South South group dares Akiolu, urges support for Agbaje

Infuriated by Oba of Lagos’ recent threat against non-indigenes who are poised not to vote for the governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Akinwunmi Ambode, the South South Forum in Lagos has urged non-indigenes to vote for the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Jimi Agbaje.

The Chairman of the forum, Sunday Ekanem, made the appeal on Wednesday in Lagos.    “This is a charge on all non-indigenes – South South, South-East and Arewa indigenes resident in Lagos to vote overwhelming for Jimi Agbaje, the PDP governorship candidate in Lagos State come April 11, 2015, no matter the amount of blackmail and intimidation,” he said.

Ekanem expressed disappointment that the Lagos State monarch could descend so low to the extent of threatening non-indigenes who fail to vote for his choice candidate in the Saturday governorship election in the state.

“To me, it is not just a conspiracy but a gang-up against all ethnic minorities that must be conquered, hence the compelling need for all of us to use our PVCs come April ll, 2015, to send a strong message to the world that we are a resilient people bent on taking our destiny in our hands,” he said.

He further appealed to members of PDP from South South and South East back at home to come out next Saturday and vote for candidates of the party in the governorship and House of Assembly elections.

“We also seize this opportunity to call on our brothers and sisters back home in the five South East and South South states to vote massively for all the PDP candidates in the governorship and House of Assembly elections,” he said.
