Construction worker’s brain pierced when seven-foot long iron rod falls from a building site miraculously survives

Mohammad Guddu

An Indian construction worker has miraculously survived despite being impaled by a seven-foot rod that skewered his skull.

Mohammad Guddu, 24, was mixing cement at a construction site in Malad, Mumbai, when the rod accidentally fell from a higher floor and pierced through his head.

And the metal spike hit the builder with such force that it went through his head and protruded out of the back of his skull.

Shocking pictures and x-rays show the extent of his injuries with the rod totally embedded through his head.

However, he was saved after doctors at a government hospital cut open his skull in order to pull out the rod during a five-hour operation.

Mr Guddu is now out of danger and is responding well to treatment, although he has developed paralysis on the left side of his body.
