She is known for her cool sense of style. But when Kim Kardashian’s bestie Ciara got married, she wanted the full-on fairytale – albeit with an American twist.
The stunning singer and her Seattle Seahawks quarterback husband treated themselves to a no expense spared wedding this week, in a centuries old British castle.
And newly released photos from their big day on Wednesday reveal how instead of a high fashion ‘do, the newlyweds opted for a rather more traditional scene.
The couple said their vows at the stunning backdrop of the medieval Peckforton Castle in Cheshire, UK, in front of 100 guests which included Jennifer Hudson.
Ciara’s young son Future Zahir acted as ring bearer, while Gracie Wilson was the flower girl.
Kelly Rowland and Lala Anthony were among the eight bridesmaids, but Serena Williams had to pull out of bridesmaid duties after sailing through to the Wimbledon quarter finals this week, following her win against Russian player Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.
The other bridesmaids were Erica Ashe, Jamaica Craft, Hanna Isaksson, Sabena Toor and Anna Wilson, who is Russell’s sister.
The new pictures show the bridesmaids wearing long black dresses individually designed by Michael Costello.
As his groomsmen Russell chose Kenny Dichter, Jimmy Graham, Cole Hawthorne, Matthew Rodgers, Mark Rodgers, Robert Turbin and his brother Harry Wilson.
Like the bridesmaids the groomsmen also wore black. While the dark garb was a clear break with tradition, it had the desired effect of making Ciara’s bridal white gown stand out even more.
