PVC Collection: Voters Besiege INEC Office In Delta

Few days to the presidential election nationwide, the electorate in Sapele community in Delta State have swooped on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) premises and various polling units in the area in order to collect their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs).
Our correspondent who went round some of the units such as Okpe Hall unit 1 – 4, Chude, Amokpe and Okotiebo, reports that the electorates were satisfied and happy that they were given their PVCs.
At Okpe hall unit 1, there was a long queue of people awaiting their turn to collect their PVCs. One of them, Timeyin Odudu, who spoke to our correspondent expressed joy over finally collecting his own card, adding that it was now possible for him to cast his vote for the candidates of his choice.

Also, Madam Clara Origbe, who heaved a sigh of relief after she was given her PVC said, “INEC truly has changed and I can now believe the call that those who have not collected should come for theirs. I am saying this because this is not the first time I have come here for the exercise.”

Speaking to our correspondent on the exercise so far, the INEC official in charge of Okpe Hall unit 1, 11, 111 and 1v, Mrs Regina Ogagaoghene, described the turnout as very impressive, saying that INEC was ready to discharge its duties creditably in order to ensure that no eligible voter will be disenfranchised from voting during the February elections, while calling on those who have not collected their to come and do so without delay.
