She, therefore, called on indigenes of the areas to vote for her and the PDP governorship candidate in Lagos State, Mr. Jimi Agbaje.
Abdulkarim, who hails from Badagry, said this during a PDP rally in Badagry on Saturday.
She said, “We in Badagry voted in 2003 for the PDP, and since then, suffering and marginalisation have been our lot. They refused to appoint anyone from here as a commissioner.”
Abdulkarim described Agbaje as another Moses, who was coming to alleviate the sufferings of her people, asking Lagosians to reject the APC in the coming elections.
Lamenting the dearth of industries in Badagry, she said that under a PDP government, Badagry would be turned into an industrial hub to exploit the markets of Togo, Benin and the entire West African region.
She added, “Do not be deceived. They have come to you with their brooms. They went to look for someone who truncated democracy and they want to impose him. They are vouching for a 72-year old, and describing a 58-year-old as too old. Who do they want to deceive?”
Also speaking at the event, Agbaje accused the Lagos State Government of marginalising Badagry and Epe areas of the state in its urban renewal plans.
Agbaje stressed that the Egun people of Badagry had been sidelined for too long in Lagos politics and in infrastructural development.
The PDP candidate also promised to complete the Lekki-Epe Expressway and end the electricity problem ravaging Epe if elected.
