Rivers High Court on fire as Union ends strike

A Rivers State High Court sitting in Degema is currently on fire, DAILY POST has learnt.

Although the cause of the fire is still unknown, there are feelers that it may not be unconnected with the crisis rocking the Judiciary in Rivers state.

Chairman of the Degema branch of the Nigerian Bar Association is yet to make an official statement on this latest development.

The National Executive Council of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, JUSUN, had last week directed its Rivers state chapter of the union to return to work after embarking on an 8-month long indefinite strike.

National Publicity Secretary of JUSUN, Kayode Igbarago in a media briefing in Port Harcourt held that insecurity and victimization of its members in the state which was the cause of the strike had been resolved.
