The Council of Lagos State Indigenes has described the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Lagos State, Jimi Agbaje, as the most credible, competent, trusted and reliable among all jostling for the number one seat in the state.
The council at a forum at the Yoruba Tennis Club in Lagos on Wednesday, disclosed that it looked around among all the governorship candidates in the state and discovered that only Agbaje is the best among the lots.
President of the council, Chief Sunbo Onitiri, while delivering a speech at the event, urged all Lagosians to massively vote for Agbaje as Governor of Lagos State.
According to him, “We need to end slavery, oppression and dominance of one party in Lagos. Lagosians say enough is enough. Let us liberate ourselves and our children from oppression, looting of our treasury and multiple taxation come April, 2015 election and end one man rule in Lagos.
“In spite of the 16 years of the All Progressives Congress (APC) government in Lagos, the state is still rated one of the dirtiest, filthiest and most unsafe city in the world.
“The APC government has failed to provide potable water, roads, good education, affordable housing scheme. We are tired of misrule and bad governance and we can no longer tolerate our huge resources to be in the pocket of one man.
“In spite of the huge Internally Generated Revenue, most of which is siphoned into private pockets, the state is still largely undeveloped. Most of the revenue is being used to propagate the political empire of one man who has vested interest in the economy of the state,” Onitiri said.
Onitiri, however, urged residents of the state to vote out APC and vote for the PDP in the coming elections.
“We urge all democrats and lovers of Lagos State to massively vote for Jimi Agbaje as governor of Lagos State,” he added.
