Arewa community in Edo denies endorsing Jonathan

The Arewa Community in Edo State has dissociated itself from the endorsement of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Goodluck Jonathan for a second term in office.

The group, however, reaffirmed its support for the Adams Oshiomhole-led All Progressives Congress (APC) government in the state.

Senior Special Assistant to Edo State Governor on Arewa Community Matters,  Sahabi Aliyu Umar, stated this while reacting to media reports   that South-South Arewa had endorsed President Jonathan for second term in office.

“Edo State Arewa never and is not party to the declaration, it is money they gave them and without money, they cannot come and say that.

“Nobody in Edo State is party to that if there is; it is Arewa PDP and not Arewa Edo State.

“The Arewa in Edo State are 100 per cent behind the government of Edo State; the government of Adams Oshiomhole, who is also the icon of the Buhari Movement, Buhari for president” he said.
