The Abia State Police Command has paraded six suspected killers of a traffic warden, Emmanuel Nwankwo, who was killed on February 24 while on duty at the popular Brass Junction.
The suspects’ names were given as Chisom Solomon, Temple Ikpeazu , Justice Wisdom, Sunday Nwabueze, Jacob Orji and Uche Jumbo.
Commissioner of Police, Joshak Habila, said one of the suspects, Solomon, was arrested with a locally-made pistol during a random stop and search operation.
The CP said during interrogation, the suspect confessed that he was an armed robber and a member of the Vickings cult.
He said the suspect told the police that one Teco Daco was responsible for the killing of the traffic police officer.
Habila said the suspect led detectives to arrest other members of the gang, adding that they would be arraigned as soon as investigations were concluded.
But one of the suspects, Wisdom, denied involvement in the alleged killing. He explained that he was returning to his house one evening when he was arrested by the police.
Another suspect, Orji, said his cousin came with some policemen, claiming that he was a cultist and member of a robbery gang.
