
Rapper MC Supreme, best known for his hit song, ‘Black In America’ passed away this past Saturday, June 13, in a car accident on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, California. #RIP.
So sad. MC Supreme (real name, Dewayne Coleman) had parked in the shoulder of the very busy and dangerous freeway when a pickup truck crashed into his vehicle and killed him at only 47 years old, according to the Associated Press. Read on for all the tragic details!
Supreme was pronounced dead at the scene, while a female passenger was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries, the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office told the AP. Local news station KTLA also covered the heartbreaking incident, showing viewers a photo from the wreck, which detailed a dismantled vehicle turned on its backside with portions of the car thrown about the highway. KTLA also reported that the truck’s driver Philip Torres, 34, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
The hip hop artist’s sister, Irene, spoke with City News Service after the horrifying happenings. She explained that just before Supreme’s death, he was focusing his energy on teaching kids about the dangers of gang life and how to avoid it.
