Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State is now free to go ahead and form his cabinet.
This followed the approval by the State House of Assembly, Thursday, of the 37 nominees he sent to the Assembly for confirmation as commissioners and Special Advisers .
The approval came after the presentation of the report of the Assembly’s 15-man Ad-hoc Screening Committee led by Mr. Wasiu Esinlokun-Sanni, (APC-Lagos Island 2), and its adoption.
While presenting the report and recommendations of the committee, Esinlokun-Sanni said all the nominees submitted required documents and original certificates for sighting and were asked questions on the state.
He said that the nominees were also endorsed by the lawmakers representing their constituencies and cleared by the committees.
Voice votes to confirm the nominees were taken by the Speaker of the Assembly, Mr. Mudasiru Obasa, after which he directed the Clerk of the House, Mr. Ganiyu Abiru, to convey the House decision to the governor.
