Senate resumes Lamorde’s probe after ministerial screening – Melaye

Chairman, Senate ad-hoc committee on Media and Publicity, Senator Dino Melaye, said on Tuesday that the upper chamber will resume the probe of the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Lamorde, after the ministerial screening.

Melaye told our correspondent in Abuja that the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, which started the investigation of a petition against Lamorde, was currently busy with petitions against some ministerial nominees.

He said, “There is a petition against the EFCC boss before the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions. Further action was stalled because of the ongoing ministerial screening especially with the active involvement of the committee in the screening.”

The Punch.
