A four-year-old boy has been deliberately drowned in the bathtub by his own grandmother, police have said.
Dawn Diana Raines-Hewes, 51, was arrested in Fairfield, California, after her grandson was found unconscious in a bathtub on Tuesday morning.
She was babysitting her two granddaughters, age one and six, along with the boy, when she allegedly took him to the bathroom and intentionally killed him.
Police received a 911 call about a boy drowning. They then arrived at the scene and tried to resuscitate the boy.
