Terminally ill Joey Feek leaves hospice bed to play with daughter

Country singer Joey Feek, 40, has had an early Christmas gift in the ability to get out of bed so she could sit and play with her nearly two-year-old daughter Indiana. The star has been battling stage 4 cervical cancer and stopped treatment in Oct. after the diagnosis turned terminal.
She’s been spending quality time with her husband Rory and other loved ones as she has her final holiday season with them.

Brave Joey is seen seated on the floor of her house, showing her little girl a book. Though she’s thin and frail from the ravages of the disease, she still has a huge smile on her beautiful face. The Facebook photo caption reads “It’s 60 and sunny outside today and even brighter inside.. Joey’s out of bed teaching signs to Indy on the floor.” Aww, so touching!

Late last Oct. the country duo of Joey and Rory announced that they would be canceling the remainder of the dates on their 2015 Farmhouse Concert tour. Joey made the unimaginably difficult decision to stop treatment for her cervical cancer, and the duo are going to spend their time together at home.

Her initial prognosis had was that she may not make it to Christmas, but she’s a fighter and has kept on going. According to her family, her greatest wish is to live to see her daughter turn two in Feb.
