Banker crushed to death by BRT bus in Lagos

A banker, identified as Segun Ajisebutu, was yesterday crushed to death in Lagos by a BRT bus while trying to cross the road at Palmgrove bus-stop in Lagos.

Ajisebutu, a staff of a new generation bank, met his end at about 6 am under Palmgrove pedestrian bridge while on his way to work.
The incident was said to have caused a major gridlock which took over the BRT lane for hours until law enforcement agents arrived at the scene to clear up the path.

A police officer, who witnessed the incident, said the corpse of the victim was laid on the BRT lane.

She said: “The man was crushed by the car. There was a gash on his chest which ran down his body. It was a gory sight. I saw a crowd of people around him. I just peeped and quickly left the place”

It was gathered that some members of the deceased’s family who got wind of the incident, showed up with some policemen from the Ilupeju Police Division.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Kenneth Nwosu, confirmed the incident.
“It happened around 6.30 am. The corpse was evacuated by the policemen from the Ilupeju division,” he stressed.
