Caitlyn Jenner celebrated her first Fourth of July with a touching message on social media. It’s been a big year of changes of Caitlyn, and she’s so glad she’s ‘free’ to be who she wants to be. Happy 4th of July, Caitlyn!
She’s just happy to be free! Caitlyn Jenner, 65, celebrated Independence Day with a poignant message that echoed her year of transition. The reality star and former Olympic hero celebrated the Fourth of July holiday with a special patriotic Instagram post.
Caitlyn happily share a pictured of her framed U.S. flag to wish her social media followers a happy holiday. “Happy 4th of July! Proud to be an American… where at least I am free to be me,” she captioned the photo.
If Caitlyn’s “free to be me” statement sounds familiar, she said something similar to that statement during her interview with Diane Sawyer on 20/20 back in April. She recounted a story how Kim Kardashian, 34, had been the most accepting of the transition because of what Kanye West, 38, said about being yourself.
“He says to Kim, ‘Look it, I can be married to the most beautiful woman in the world, and I am. I can have the most beautiful daughter in the world, and I have that,” Caitlyn, then Bruce, revealed the rapper said to Kim. “‘But I’m nothing if I can’t be me. If I can’t be true to myself, it doesn’t mean anything.'”
Caitlyn has fully embraced her life as a transgender woman, and she’s never looked happier. She recently spent a week in New York, where she appeared at an NYC Pride event on June 28 to a rapturous reception. During her time in the Big Apple, she stepped out in a variety of amazing outfits.
