Kansas father accused of murdering 7-year-old son and feeding his remains to pigs

A father has been charged with murder after police say he killed his 7-year-old boy and fed him to his pigs to get rid of the evidence.

44-year-old Michael Jones is being held on a $10 Million bond for torturing and killing his son. His charges include one count of aggravated assault with a firearm, one count of aggravated battery, child abuse, and of course murder.

According to authorities, Jones committed this horrible act on his own property in Kansas City, Kansas where he, his wife, and his 8 children live. Jone’s allegedly assaulted his wife and also beat the children’s step-mom.

According to acquaintances, the Jones’ home was dirty and the children lived in absolute filth. “Trash everywhere…dried food all over the house,” said one woman. Two women who baby sat the kids also claim that the children were always scared to go back home.

Authorities were initially called to the Jones’ home on a domestic complaint, but later they were told to do a welfare check on their 7-year-old son, after he had gone missing for quite some time. This was not the first time authorities were called to check on the children. Neighbors say several people have called Kansas Department for Children and Families to check on their children previously, and wonder why no one called to report the missing boy until the police showed up to the home.

That was when they found human remains in the barn where the pigs dwelled, and are trying to piece whether they are of the little boy or not, although they do believe the bones resemble that of a child’s.

According to a caretaker, Heather (mom) bought the pigs over a month ago.

There is no word on Heather Jones’ involvement in her step son’s alleged murder, but the remaining children have been taken out of the home and placed in protective custody.
