Kris Jenner seen for first time visiting new mom Kim Kardashian

Dressed to impress: The TV icon threw a black jacket over her shoulders and carried a red purse

Kardashian momager Kris Jenner paid a visit to her new grandson Sunday morning, 24 hours after Kim and Kanye announced the arrival of their second child.

The 60-year-old was seen for the first time arriving at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles where Kim is in an exclusive $4,000-a-night maternity suite.

She drove herself to the hospital in a soft top luxury sedan. Later she stopped off at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills.

Expanding clan: Kim's new baby will be the fifth grandchild for Kris, who had four children with her late husband, attorney Robert Kardashian, and two daughters with her ex Bruce - now Caitlin - Jenner

The baby boy is Kris's fifth grandchild after Kourtney's kids Mason, Penelope and Reign Disick, and Kim's eldest North West.

The infant's arrival was announced via Kim's website kimkardashianwest.com along with a photo of her and husband Kanye holding hands and the message: 'Mother and baby are doing well.'

Kris retweeted the statement, along with Kourtney's tweet 'Baby's breath' that followed shortly after.

People reported Sunday that a source told them the eldest Kardashian sister had stayed at Kim's side during the delivery.

Kim was able to deliver her second child naturally after doctors successfully managed to turn the unborn baby around from a breech position.

If the painful procedure hadn't worked, Kim wrote on her website, then she would have had to have had a C-section, something she didn't want unless it was medically necessary.

When daughter North was born at the same hospital two years ago, the celebrity couple waited almost a whole week before announcing her name.

It seems they're taking their time this time too as so far there's no word on what the rapper and the reality star plan to call the newest addition to their family.

The infant's moniker may well include Robert, the name of Kim's late father, according to People's story published Sunday.

But Kanye is apparently 'really stoked' to have a son, a source told People on Sunday. 'He knows how important it is for [daughter] North to have a strong father in her life, and he feels that same responsibility to his son, as well.'

Despite arriving three weeks ahead of his due date, the baby was healthy enough to remain at his mother's side in the luxury suite.

'They are receiving a lot of gifts, including baskets and flowers,' wrote People. 'The suite is also decorated with blue balloons.'

Younger sister Khloe was one of the first to visit the baby, who was born at the same hospital where the 31-year-old's estranged husband Lamar Odom remains in treatment following his October collapse.
