The NYPD should investigate why it took so long for police to respond to an 18-year-old woman who was raped by a group of five men at a Brooklyn playground, Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams said Sunday.
“We need to listen to the 911 call,” said Adams, a retired police captain. “We need to find out…the response time from the time it was reported. This baffles all my police experience. Something is missing.”
It remains unclear how long it actually took cops to respond to distress call made by the girl’s father.
The man told cops he was chased off by the five assailants — one who pulled a gun on him — before the attack inside Osborne Playground about 11:15 p.m. Thursday.
Each of the five men then raped the young woman, the NYPD said.
When the father came back to the scene with two cops the suspects had already fled, the NYPD said.
