A Midtown financial guru is suspected of stabbing his wife to death in their multimillion-dollar Scarsdale home — the first homicide in the well-heeled community in nearly four decades, officials said.
Jules Reich, 61, was being questioned late Wednesday in the death of his 58-year-old spouse, Dr. Robin Goldman, officials said. Charges were pending against Reich, who was taken to a hospital for undisclosed reasons.
Scarsdale police rushed to the couple’s massive, $2.8 million mansion on Lincoln Road — about 25 miles north of Manhattan — around 10 a.m. Reich had called 911, saying his wife was seriously injured in the five-bedroom home.

A law enforcement source said the killing took place during a domestic dispute. It wasn’t immediately clear what sparked the violence. Goldman died at the scene, officials said.
“This is not a random act,” Scarsdale Police Capt. Thomas Alpizio told reporters. “This is an isolated incident.
Goldman was a pediatrician affiliated with the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, officials said.
A hospital spokeswoman declined to comment on Goldman’s death and referred all questions to police.

Public records indicate Reich had petitioned for divorce in August, according to LoHud.com.
Crime scene investigators remained at the couple’s home well into the night. Scarsdale cops said the Westchester County Department of Public Safety’s forensic investigations unit was building a case with the district attorney’s office.
The crime “poses no threat to the community,” Alpizio said in a statement.
The couple bought their house, which sits on 1.3 acres and has a pool, a bath house and a greenhouse, in 1997.
Reich, a mergers and acquisitions expert, became a partner at WeiserMazars in August 2014.

At the time, the company’s CEO touted Reich’s “vast knowledge” and 20 years of experience in corporate consulting.
A call to WeiserMazars for comment was not returned.
Stunned neighbors said Reich and Goldman were both active in their local temple.
“This is very sad,” neighbor Martin Molot, 85, told the Daily News. Reich “is a nice guy. He seemed so level-headed.”

The last homicide in Scarsdale was in 1977, when 23-year-old Yale graduate Richard Herrin smashed his 20-year-old ex-girlfriend Bonnie Garland’s head in with a hammer as she slept in her parents’ home, officials said.
Herrin was convicted of manslaughter and served 17 years in prison, according to court documents.
