Everyone says they want to die in their sleep, but not this way. 25-year-old Dashanika Sherrod was executed right in her own apartment just a few feet away from her children and mother.
Police reports say that an armed man broke into the apartment while Dashanika slept. The gunman reportedly put three bullets into Dashanika, shooting her in the head with each shot. The armed man fled the apartment after cowardly killing Dashanika at close range.
Reports later revealed that Dashanika and the gunman were acquainted. The identity of the shooter has not been released yet as the authorities acquire the proper warrants to capture him.
Newport News is shocked to hear about their latest murder victim. The young woman was the second murder of the year, and tragically such a young shooting victim.
Reports say that Dashanika is survived by her 8-year-old son and a 4-year-old daughter. The grieving children are now being taken care of by close relatives as the family tries to make sense of this senseless murder.
It is reported that Dashanika was a beloved member of the family who was affectionately called “Sheka.” Reports have described her as being a self-sacrificing mother who worked very hard to provide for her children.
Dashanika’s heartbroken father is reported to have publicly called her killer “a coward.” An angry Jimmy Alexander reportedly said, “You shot a woman in her sleep — shot her in her head three times.”
As a grieving father, reports say that Alexander also weighed in on America’s gun problem.
Alexander reportedly advocated at sharp increase in the price of the bullets used to kill people instead of the almost insurmountable task of policing the buying and selling of guns.
Many agree with Dashanika’s grieving father. If bullets were too hard to purchase or find, senseless murders would have to sharply decline.
