Why Boko Haram Is Losing The War

The new military hardware procured by the Federal government coupled with the operation by the multi-national joint task force have strengthened the zeal to defeat the islamist Boko Haram.

Nigeria, Cameroon, Niger and Chad make up the task force and have had the upper hand in the fight against the Boko Haram.

Minister of Youth Development and former Governor of Adamawa State Mr. Boni Haruna said this at both Michika and Madagali local government areas during the week end when he visited the two areas.

He debunked insinuations that the fight against Boko Haram is suddenly being rushed after the nation found it difficult containing the insurgents for the past six years.

According to him, it was quite difficult fighting the insurgents who operated along the nations porous borders adding that with the co-operation went through with Chad, Cameroon and Niger, the insurgents are finding it difficult to operate since they cannot attack the nation only to escape to the territories of these multi national task force.

“it is like if attacked by armed bandits and your neighbours assist you, you can overcome them”, he said.

Boni Haruna said aside of the joint task force, the equipment procured by the military has greatly helped in the fight against the Boko Haram.

He then called on Nigerians to distance themselves from politicizing the issue of the fight against the Boko Haram.
